Behind the curtain here at West Trestle Review, we're making preparations for the publication of Catenary, our first annual letterpress chapbook of WTR's best poems of the year, and I am so pleased that Katherine Case of Meridian Press has offered to lead the project. Katherine is currently tinkering away at cover design ideas, and I can promise that, like all of her work, it's going to be stunning! Katherine is a poet/artist/letterpress printer, and she allows those various forms of expression to influence one another in all of her work. You're welcome to read about her process in our "Hearing Voices: Women Versing Life" interview at Ploughshares. Also, You'll find Katherine's poem, "How the Valleys Are Made" in our archive.
Needless to say, I am truly excited about this first volume of Catenary, which should be available by the end of the summer. If you have not yet been published in West Trestle Review and would like your poems to be considered for Volume One of Catenary, be sure to send your work by May 31. All poems published in West Trestle Review are considered for Catenary, and all poems submitted to WTR after May 31 and published within the next year will be considered for Volume Two of Catenary. Also, be sure to sign up for our very occasional news letter, so you can be there when the train arrives at the station.
All the best,
Riding the rails.
