Black & Tan
I stretch through extended neck and angled chin
tap sunlight’s edge as it leaks over window sills frosted by sub zero temps.
I elongate my legs – en pointe – still a gazelle – a melodic curve in arches
my feet - there is excitement - pushing myself
this was an extrapolation - marimba checklist sounding warm in most spots,
cool in others even courageous curiosity
curios, antiques, and all new arrangements of shelves
sounds a lot like selves - rediscover the movement in taut quads, hard glutes
a free heart song beyond all expectations
lasered half steps, incise constraints
freedom to roam as reverberation, as laughter
in hair in sun you brushed away with your lips.
