Cross-Tie 11.24.14: Dawn McGuire

Picture

Dawn McGuire's beautiful and haunting book
The Aphasia Café appeared in 2012. In the book's introduction she reminds us readers of "the everyday aphasias we all share: the ways we often can't say what we mean, or mean what we say, or understand what others are trying to tell us." Her previous poetry collections are Sleeping in Africa and Hands On. Dawn is a physician specializing in neurology and she is also a graduate of Union Theological Seminary.  -- Kathleen McClung
