Cross-Tie 1.19.15: Naomi Ruth Lowinsky

Naomi Ruth Lowinsky is a Jungian analyst and poet whose work offers a rich amalgam of autobiography, myth, and dream. Diane di Prima has said, “We partake with her in ecstasy and darkness, passion, epiphany and hunger, and our world is larger for it.” Naomi’s path first crossed mine at the Berkeley Poets Cooperative in 1972, then again at a poetry reading given in 1999 by Judy Wells, the first poet published by my press, Scarlet Tanager Books, and yet again when Naomi and I became co-winners of the 2014 Blue Light Poetry Prize and Chapbook Contest. It seems that we were destined to know and admire each other’s work. Scarlet Tanager published Naomi’s first two poetry collections, red clay is talking and crimes of the dreamer.
