Cross-Tie 1.26.15: Chana Bloch

Picture
I admire Chana Bloch, who taught at Mills College in Oakland for years and lives in Berkeley. Her poems are honest, wise, sometimes amusing, sometimes heart-wrenching-- often amusing and heart-wrenching at once. In other words, hers is an emotionally eventful and examined life distilled into poetry. Swimming in the Rain: New and Selected Poems has just been issued by Autumn House Press. There are several poems and a recent interview with her in Talking Writing.
-- Susan Cohen,  West Trestle Review poet of the week.

p.s. Chana was also the creative writing director for three out of four of West Trestle Review's board and staff. We are admirers as well.
